Not gonna lie, we’ve been talking about starting this newsletter for a while now and honestly , no idea why it took us this long . But yea , here we are !

I think everyone in Paris can agree on one thing right now: the city feels different. Its Summer Again .

There’s always this weird shift in the air after Couture Week. A few days ago, Paris was full of black cars, overflowing cafés, and people carrying garment bags while pretending they weren’t late already . And now ? it’s quiet again. The crowds are gone, Our calendar has white space AGAINN, and we finally slowed down too .Trust me , we genuinely couldn’t keep pretending we weren’t tired anymore.

Fashion Weeks have a funny way of convincing you that living off coffee, Skinny cigs , three hours of sleep, and having your first meal of the day at 19h ( in most cases, it’s a glass of wine) is completely normal, until it isn’t. But honestly, it just hasn’t been about back to back Fashion Weeks. We’ve been on the go since January – building Modentrée, hosting events almost every week, working on studio projects, styling, meetings, and saying yes to every opportunity that came our way.

It’s strange because when you’re in it, you don’t even realise how tired you are. Then August (which i personally identify as my Birthday month) arrives, where everyone in this industry (& tbh almost all Parisians) collectively disappears for a bit, and honestly, I love that about this city. You can let ideas sit, ignore your inbox for a few more hours (hahah, jokes apart I highly wouldn’t recommend that), and spend an afternoon doing absolutely nothing while convincing yourself it’s part of the creative process. Sometimes it actually is.

Anyways , September’s coming ! and so is something we’ve been quietly working on. We’re not ready to talk about it just yet, but when we are, you’ll be the first to know.

Finding Our Orange

Since this is the first time we’re doing this (this very Newsletter, you’re reading rn btw), it felt right to share a little bit about where Modentrée came from.

We’ve been asked a few times where Modentrée came from, and I never really know how to answer because there wasn’t one big moment. Looking back, it feels like a hundred tiny moments that became impossible to ignore.

Ten months in, Modentrée looks very different from what we first imagined. Somewhere along the way, it started showing us what it actually wanted to become.

We found our Orange – the creative side of Modentrée, where we do artistic direction, styling, and bringing ideas to life. But while that became clearer , something else was growing at the same time – 3^rd Side , the community part of us that became something we never expected.

but why 3rd Side tho? We all have the people who know us already, the people who have seen our journey from the beginning. Then there’s the Put together version of ourselves that we bring into work and everyday life. but there’s also this other version of us that appears when we enter a space where nobody has any expectations of who we are, where we get to just exist, talk, and discover each other. And maybe that’s what WE ourselves were looking for all along .

I’m not gonna lie, there’s actual work behind it all and not just Vibes (as you see on social media). There were definitely weeks where we questioned ourselves, feeling overwhelmed, running on hangovers, and pouring so much energy into something we care about. But then you see someone find their people through something you created, and you remember why it mattered in the first place.

Since we’re talking about transitions, and while going through one ourselves, I noticed the fashion industry right now was too.

This season tbh felt like a season of handovers. New people stepping into old houses , First solo collections after someone huge left & Designers carrying years of history on their shoulders while figuring out what they’re allowed to keep and what they have to let go.

And honestly, that’s what made this Fashion Week so interesting. Fashion has always been about change, but this season felt like everyone was quietly asking the same question: how do you respect what came before without becoming trapped by it? Maybe that’s the hardest part of taking over something with so much history – knowing what to protect, and what to let go. but that’s a conversation for next week.

One more thing before I go, because it’s been on my mind all week and I’m not going to pretend it hasn’t been.

We’ve been watching what’s happening in India this week, the Gen Z-led protests, the marches, all of it. We keep thinking about how people act like fashion and politics are two separate rooms. But They’re not ! They’re in the same room.

Fashion is political. It always has been, whether people in this industry want to admit that or not. The act of getting dressed and showing up as yourself, in any form, is political. Standing up for yourself isn’t some big brave gesture, it’s the bare minimum you owe yourself.

And YES, it’s COOL to CARE…

I keep thinking about how caring somehow became uncool and embarrassing. Like trying too hard, wanting something too much, or actually believing in something became a thing to hide. But maybe that’s exactly why caring matters. Because actually caring means you’re willing to risk looking stupid, being wrong, or putting yourself out there without knowing what happens next.

It’s easy to act like nothing matters. It’s harder to admit that something does.

A Parisian DJ who’s been a staple of the underground scene for years. The kind of set where you don’t need to know every song — you just trust where it takes you.

The Dare + The Avalanches — 08.08
A very unexpected but very fun crossover. The person behind that sunglasses moment in Charli XCX’s “Guess” video joins forces with electronic legends The Avalanches for one night in Paris.
