The Modentrée Weekly Note
Issue 08
Paris

Buckle up. A creative director is actually leaving, Armani is entering its first post-Giorgio year, Calvin Klein has the hype but still needs the numbers, and Margiela made a movie that literally does not exist. Normal week, apparently.
The Hype Is Real. Now What?
Veronica Leoni just wrapped her fourth runway season at Calvin Klein, and the response is still strong. The collection has become one of those New York shows people actually want to talk about – which, in itself, is not nothing.
But the bigger question is what all that attention turns into. PVH’s latest results were solid, while Calvin Klein’s fashion comeback is still in the early stages of translating cultural buzz into business. Leoni has the fashion crowd looking. Now we wait to see what happens next.
Well… Anthony Is Actually Leaving
This started as an Instagram rumour. It no longer is.
Anthony Vaccarello is set to leave Saint Laurent after the September show, ending a ten-year run at the house. And honestly, that’s what makes this interesting. He leaves behind a Saint Laurent that has become very recognisably his without ever feeling like he was trying to reinvent it for the sake of it.
Now the real question is what happens when a house has to move on from a formula that clearly worked.

Armani Without Armani
It’s been a year since Giorgio Armani died, and the house is now entering the first real stage of its transition. His will sets out an initial 15% stake sale within 12 to 18 months, while sales fell 2.8% to €2.2 billion.
The numbers aren’t the interesting part. The interesting part is what happens when a brand built around one person has to make decisions without that person in the room. Armani has spent the year protecting continuity. Now it has to prove that continuity can exist without Giorgio Armani at the centre of it.
Margiela Made A Film That Doesn’t Exist

“ANONIMITY,” the Fall/Winter 2026 campaign starring Rebecca Hall, is a trailer for a film that was never made. Hall keeps coming face-to-face with a masked version of herself, and that’s basically the whole point: Margiela takes the idea of anonymity and turns it into something genuinely unsettling. You’re watching someone become unrecognisable while still looking directly at you.
PARIS ISN’T WAITING FOR FASHION WEEK TO START THE PARTY BTW
PARIS DESIGN WEEK IS CLOCKING IN
10–19 SEPT · PARIS
The city flips into design mode with exhibitions, installations, showrooms and events everywhere. Start making your list.
LE GRAND BOUQUET IS ABOUT TO BE HUGE
11–20 SEPT · GRAND PALAIS
Uchronia is taking over the Grand Palais with an oversized floral installation. Because apparently Paris needed one more thing to look at.
Basically, the city is already warming up. Fashion Week hasn’t even started.
Also, 3rd Side Is Today !
Third Side is back today for its third meetup. More creatives, more new faces, and hopefully a few conversations that turn into something later. That’s kind of the whole point.
If you’re around Paris, come through.
Anyway, That’s The Week !
It’s funny how quickly the industry moves on. Someone leaves, someone new gets announced, and suddenly we’re already looking ahead. But what actually gets lost when we’re always waiting for the next thing?
See you next week.
